A JustGiving page has been opened by Karen Grant, a close friend and neighbour of Eline Adams, 62, who died in the week after her dream Valentine’s Day wedding.

Eline and Dale on their wedding day

in 2004, Eline moved to the village of Farcet in Peterborough from Den Hague in Netherlands to live with her partner, Dale.

And it was Karen who organised the couple’s wedding with the help of friends, family and businesses.

Karen says Eline was a ‘dazzling soul’ who was loved and cared for by many people from the village and across the city – so much so that after her diagnosis people came together to turn Eline’s dream of getting married in her village church into a reality.

she just had this light that drew people in – Karen Grant

Due to lockdown regulations, the couple had to obtain a special licence, The wedding took place at St Mary’s Church, Farcet, in front of Dale’s three children and friend Andy, who walked Eline down the aisle on February 14.

Karen wanted to make sure Eline got the funeral she deserves so she stepped up once again and launched the JustGiving page to support Eline’s family with the funeral costs.

She is confident that people will donate and help cover the expenses of Eline’s funeral to give her the send off she would have wanted.
