The GB Boxing squad are picking up their training towards qualifying for the rescheduled 2021 Olympic Games.

The team has flown to Serbia to compete in the Belgrade Winners Boxing Tournament after the Tokyo 2020 Olympics was cancelled because of coronavirus.

The tournament will consist of teams from European and some Asian countries and will prepare teams to take part in the European Qualification Tournament in Paris on June 4.

GB Boxing performance director and head coach Robert McCracken said he was pleased with the team’s progress.

“The team prepared well in the training camp in Belfast to finish off their preparations with Ireland, France, Italy and Germany.

“The boxers are well prepared, in good condition and are looking forward to boxing.”

In the women’s team Rosie Eccles (welterweight), Caroline Dubois (lightweight) and Charley Davison (flyweight) will compete.

In the men’s category are Frazer Clarke, Cheavon Clarke, Benjamin Whittaker, Lewis Richardson, Pat McCormack, Luke McCormack, Peter McGrail and Galal Yafai whose classes range from flyweight to super-heavyweight.
