A butchers from Arnold has been hailed the best in the country after winning multiple awards at the 2019 British Pie Awards.

A.E Chambers Ltd from Arnold were voted the best in the categories: pork and other meat and cold eating savoury pie.

The butchers entered their pork and chicken pie with apple cider stuffing and their Charcoal Ploughmans pork pie and achieved gold in both classes.

The Annual Pie Ceremony received over 900 entries from butchers all over the country. It is the third time the business has entered the awards but they already have their sights set on next year’s competition.

The pies, priced at £2.15, sit alongside the two rosettes that were presented to the butchers for their homemade recipes in the store.

Matthew Weatherbed, Manager of A.E Chambers Ltd said “We have seen an increase in customers since we won these awards, it’s really made a difference to business around here”

The awards ceremony hosted in Melton is just 11 years old with applicants growing every year to try to get the prestigious title.
