After a year off, the Wheel of Nottingham is finally back and will be hosting a unique romantic feature to ensure that love is truly in the air this Valentine’s Day.
On February 14, the tourist attraction will be taken over by singletons looking for love as a part of a speed dating event.
The 60-meters tall Ferris wheel will be back in the Old Market Square between Friday, February 8, and Sunday, February 24.
“supporting our local community is something we aspire to do as often as we can” – James Mellors, director of mellors group
The speed dating event, ‘Love is in the air’ will cost £5 per person and all the money made will be donated to the British Heart Foundation in Nottingham.
James Mellors, director of the Mellors Group and the organiser of the wheel, said: “Supporting our local community is something we aspire to do as often as we can and we could not have selected a more fitting charity than the British Heart Foundation”.
Whether the people of Nottingham are as keen to find the one on the big wheel is yet to be seen:
Debbie White, British Heart Foundation regional manager for Nottingham, added: “We want to say a huge thank you to Mellors Group and the people of Nottingham for their support this Valentine’s Day.
“Their generosity will help to fund our vital heart research and improve the lives of the 7 million people in the UK living with heart and circulatory diseases.”
