The mid-season window threw up plenty of surprises, as a 3-time Premier League champion arrived in the East Midlands, whilst Forest’s vice captain departed for pastures new.

Ahead of tomorrow’s deadline there have been 34 transfers across the region, both arrivals and departures, and with that figure expecting to rise in the next 24 hours, we examine each side’s transfer dealings this winter.

Derby County

Ashley Cole, quite literally the Hollywood signing, joined the Rams’ from MLS outfit LA Galaxy on a deal running until the end of the season. The 38-year-old links up with former team-mate Frank Lampard at Pride Park. No permanent departures, however quartet Pearce, Lowe, McAllister and Thorne leave on short-term loan deals.

Nottingham Forest

In a window that has seen more arrivals in the technical area as on the pitch, centre-back Yohan Benalouane being Forest’s only signing thus far. Vice-captain Danny Fox has left the City Ground to join Wigan, whilst striker Ben Brereton moves to Blackburn Rovers, for reported fees of £340K and £7m respectively.

Multiple players have departed the club on loan deals. Forest fans will be hoping that deals for Bournemouth’s Tyrone Mings and Monaco’s Pele can be pushed through before tomorrow’s 11pm deadline.

Leicester City

Leicester fans will be looking towards tomorrow with great anticipation as the Premier League outfit are yet to make any signings this month. The Foxes’ have been heavily linked with Monaco starlet Youri Tielemans, with Portuguese midfielder Andre Silva expected to go the other way as part of the deal.

Central midfielder Vincente Iborra has returned to La Liga, he joins Villarreal in a move reported to be worth £8.7m. Yohan Benalouane and Fousseni Diabate have both left the club, with the latter leaving on a loan deal.

Mansfield Town

The Stags’ are yet to make any permanent additions to their squad, but have had an influx of loan additions from clubs in the leagues above. Jorge Grant has been the standout out acquisition contributing to 4 goals in 4 games, since signing from regional rivals Nottingham Forest.

Youth trio, Gibbens, Hakeem and Wilder depart on loan whilst veteran centre-back Zander Diamond has retired.

Notts County

The League Two side have recruited 6 new players this month, in a bid to stay in the football league. Former Peterborough striker Craig Mackail-Smith has been bought in on-loan from Wycombe Wanderers.

Midfielders Milsom, O’brien and Rose arrive on permanent deals alongside Schofield and Barclay who join County on loan deals.

Departures compromise of loan deals of youth team players whilst Terry Hawkridge has joined non-league Solihull Moors after being deemed surplus to requirements by the Magpies.
