Adult smokers across the UK are putting out their cigarettes. But reports say the habit is proving harder to break in Nottingham, which was once home to John Player cigarettes.

Since the ban in 2007 on lighting up in indoor public areas, in the last 10 years, In result the number of adult smokers have fallen in the UK from 40% to 18%.
Some have suggested that tobacco production created employment it also left a smoking addiction. For example, according to the Public Health of England and Health Foundation, Nottingham smokers have increased 24% which is 6 points above the national average and Bristol 20% making it 2 points above average.
But when you look at cities where tobacco production was at it’s peak, the adult smoking rate remains massively high. Nottingham was once home to John Player cigarettes one of the largest cigarette factories in the the UK.
