A 72-year-old woman waited two hours in the cold after falling and hitting her head on the pavement in Eastwood, Nottingham. East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) said they were just too busy.
Her medical history reveals that she’s had a stroke and a triple bypass. But she was not classed as an emergency due to being conscious and still breathing.
Tony Harper, from Broxtowe Borough Council, witnessed the fall and rang for the ambulance. During the two hour wait, he rang EMAS three times to see where they were.
EMAS has received a lot of criticism since it was branded the worst performing trust of its kind in England in October 2016.
