Events are happening in Nottingham showing support for LGBT History Month, to raise awareness of issues faced by the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.

Local institutions like Nottinghamshire Police, Nottingham Trent University and the University of Nottingham are supporting LGBT History month.

They are also flying the rainbow flag as a sign of support to Nottinghamshire’s LGBT community.

The theme of this years LGBT History Month is ‘Religion, Belief and Philosophy’.

Events at both University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University follow this theme.

The events include a variety of film screenings and talks to raise awareness of what LGBT people and communities go through.

One of these events was a film festival at Nottingham Contemporary, ran by Hannah-Rose Murray from the University of Nottingham.
