Sports hypnotist Adrian Peck is being drafted in to help Nottinghamshire students with exam stress. His range of interesting stress techniques he claims helps to improve performance.
Adrian has been working with students for around 8 years and recommends 4 simple tips to achieve success under exam conditions:
- focus on breathing
- drawing the number 8
- listening to classical music can all help to relax the mind to recall knowledge.
He says that learning to control breathing through your diaphragm can help relax the body, whilst drawing the number 8 combines both the right and left side of the brain, the logical and creative side.
Adrian Peck, talking through his unusual techniques to combat exam stress
A former 400m runner, Adrian has now transferred his sporting knowledge to helping students. He explains to them how athletes heavily rely on visualisation and picturing how an event will go will help students to visualise being in an exam and prevent things going wrong.
“THERES NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT BEING NERVOUS BUT IT’S ALL ABOUT BEING able to control your state”
Adrian explains that nerves are inevitable in situations which are important to us, such as exams and interviews however the key is to control our state in order to achieve potential.
