Two masked men beat a security guard and threatened staff in a robbery at Tesco Express before running off with a large amount of cash last night.
The duo hit the security guard over the head and used a gun and knife to intimidate staff and steal the cash.
They targeted the Tesco Express petrol garage on Nuthall Road, Cinderhall at approximately 6.30 on Thursday evening.
The security guard was hurt in the attack but was not seriously injured.
An appeal has been launched to help find the men and Nottinghamshire Police have released this statement.
“Detectives are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at a Nottingham service station this evening” (Thursday)
“Nottinghamshire Police were called just after 6.30pm after two masked men entered the Tesco Express service station on the A610 Nuthall Road at Cinderhill. The men threatened staff with a firearm and knife before stealing a quantity of cash.”
“A male security guard was struck over the head during the incident but staff were left otherwise uninjured. The man’s injuries are not believed to be life threatening or life altering.”
Police today are still working at the scene to gather further information.
