First year students at Nottingham Trent University have been warned about unannounced drug raids involving sniffer dogs and room searches to take place in upcoming weeks.

The University dispatched an informative email to all first years at the beginning of this week, stating

You may be aware that in several instances this year, students found to be in possession of drugs in residences have been removed from their residence and either sent home, or required to reside elsewhere

Multiple halls of residence’s have had searches already, although it is unclear whether or not any students have been caught in the possession of drugs or other illegal substances.
