Nottingham charities are banding together to help those who need it the most this Christmas. Events are taking place to raise money for children with illness and the elderly.
Campaigns have already began as Age UK and Make a Wish Foundation have each been raising money throughout this year for Christmas.
Both organisations are also hoping to raise awareness for the plight of those who are struggling against poverty and illness this winter.
Age UK which caters for the needs of the elderly have joined with John Lewis.
Their ‘no one should have no one’ initiative aims to make the lives of elderly people living alone less isolated by providing companionship during the festive period.
Manager of the Age UK shop in Nottingham, Sarah Smith, said: “It’s just to highlight how lonely it can be for somebody that is on their own.”
